Ive just planted a Weeping Prunus Cherry Tree. Any tips or advice on caring for it?

I live in the south of England GB if it helps.Ive just planted a Weeping Prunus Cherry Tree. Any tips or advice on caring for it?
Weeping Cherries are easy to grow and relatively forgiving trees. They need fertilizer in the spring and again in the fall - I use tree fertilizer ';spikes'; that simply get pounded into the ground along the drip line of the tree, i.e., where rain water drips onto the ground from the outer branches of the tree. Also, keeping it watered during any dry periods will help it stay healthy and resist any diseases or pests. I can't say enough about good watering and fertilizer.

Finally, infrequently, you will see a branch shoot straight up. Weeping cherries are shrubs that are grafted onto a standard cherry trunk and sometimes you will see growth from the trunk or the ground near the trunk. This is an offshoot from the standard trunk. You can't miss it. Simply prune it off as close to the trunk as possible without cutting into the trunk.

And, enjoy! They're beautiful trees!Ive just planted a Weeping Prunus Cherry Tree. Any tips or advice on caring for it?
Yeah, don't aggressively prune it until you understand how it grows. Of course eliminate dead and damaged as well as branches rubbing against one another. Do you have cherry borers in your area? They just decimate trees here.
Cheer it up a little.
