Advice & tips on air travel with my dog, in the cabin?

May I get advice %26amp; tips from those in the know on traveling by air with my small, Maltese dog? Which airlines allow her in the cabin with me? Which carrier works best? Comments?

Ten points for the best answer.

And no thank you in advance, I am not interested in your online business dear.Advice %26amp; tips on air travel with my dog, in the cabin?
I would ask this in PETS since I'm sure alot more of them travel with their dogs than people in TRAVEL do.

Does anyone have any tips/advice to help me recover from clinical depression?

Pls say whether or not you have had/have clinical depression.

thanks allDoes anyone have any tips/advice to help me recover from clinical depression?
I have clinical depression, and I'm on antidepressants and getting counseling. Between the two of them, I feel better than I have in a very long time!!

If you are really clinically depressed, you will need to be on some type of medication the rest of your life. I felt bad about that at first, but I feel so good right now, that it doesn't bother me at all right now.

The counseling part is also very important, and I would highly suggest that to you.

Best of luck to you :-)

..Does anyone have any tips/advice to help me recover from clinical depression?
I have had clinical depression probably since I was 10, but I didn't ask for help until I turned 18, and then was diagnosed and put on meds.

Everyone is different. I cannot stress that enough, but here are things that help me and my friends who suffer from depression or bipolar disorder.

Art! A great way to get out your emotions. Recommended by lots of pyschologists, especially for those who hurt themselves and/or have suicidal thoughts. This can be drawing, painting, sculpture, poetry, prose, and anything else. It releases your emotions in a positive and productive way.

Music. Usually for those who play an instrument or sing, but also lets out the emotions.

Reading. This one seems to only work for me. When I'm really depressed, I like to escape, and be someone else. It's also nice to know I'm not being stalked by a serial killer :)

Exercise! Exercise releases serotonin, which you and are lacking. This can be walking outside (sunlight helps too) or working out in the gym. Find something you like. With me, it's yoga. Sometimes I feel that's the only time I'm ever truly happy.

It all comes down to what you like, what you're good at, and what works for you. It's different for everyone, and it might be different for you day to day. When I'm very depressed I write poetry and when I'm just morose, I paint.

Symbolism is wonderful.
I second the recommedation for jogging, or any type of vigorous exercise. Join a gym and use one of those elliptical machines
Hi

My wife and I want to become singapore citizens.Any tips and advice?

We are living in Turkey right now and will be in Singapore soon for University education. We will also be investing in properties such as buying a new flat. Are we allowed to buy HDB flat? Anyone has become Singapore citizen? What steps ahead for us? Thanks for your assistance. My wife and I want to become singapore citizens.Any tips and advice?
If you are here for education, you have plenty of time to decide whether you would like to migrate. For now, I would advice againt buying property because property prices is at its highest in the last 7 to 8 years. It would be a better choice to rent a place and monitor property prices.

As a foreigner, you are not allowed to buy government housing (HDB). You will need to get your permanent resident status before you are allowed to buy a resale HDB, but not a direct sale from the government which cost a whole lot less.

It is pretty easy to secure a PR if you are educated/hold a professional job/investing $$ in Singapore. And not that tough to secure full citizenship after a few years. My wife and I want to become singapore citizens.Any tips and advice?
There is a Turkish kebab shop at Selegie Shopping Centre. Ask them if they like to live in Singapore permanently.

Any advice or tips on how to stop nail biting?

I can't seem to stop my nail biting. any tips on how to stop?Any advice or tips on how to stop nail biting?
Keep your nails painted...they will look so pretty that you won't want to bite them off. And start chewing gum, it will keep your mouth busy. Hope that helps!Any advice or tips on how to stop nail biting?
Stop bitingnails? Get yourself a nailbitestopper which is a thin, clear mouthpiece to cover your lower teeth every time you get the urge to nailbiting. This will prevent bitingnails.

In our world there are loads of products that can try to help you stop biting your nails!

The only way you can stop biting those nails of yours is if you want to stop!

    find a replacement habit:)

I had bitten my nails ever since I had 2 front teeth.......Put some nail hardener on and just tell your self, I will not bite,,,,,,then when you have a tiny bit of new growth, keep polishing them..........I have used as many as 6 coats of polish....my nails are long and pretty....I am so proud of them.........They are hard and I clip them sometimes..........
there is a clear nail polish with hot sauce in it so when yo bite them it is spicy.

or just keep painting them so the taste is nasty in your mouth.... maybve that will make you stop.

My first school dance is here. Any tips/advice for having a great time?

Well, my first school dance is here-on a weekend, yeah. I get to take pics there for my journalism class. But I'm sorta nervous-I don't like to dance and I don't know what to say if I'm asked to dance and I really don't want to? Also, are there any tips/advice I should know on having a great time at the dance? Thanks! My first school dance is here. Any tips/advice for having a great time?
What i would do is go with a bunch of my friends. That way i won't be lonely and have alot of fun. You can't be bored with a group of friends. Who knows maybe your friends will convince you to dance. If you dance in a group it's less likely for anyone to pin point you out.Just try to have fun.My first school dance is here. Any tips/advice for having a great time?
there is no real way to dance. just go out there and have a great time! i always go out onto the dance floor and dance like nobody is watching! that is what makes it fun! i always end up having more fun then the girls who just stand around because they r nervous about dancing because they r sooo self concious!

Need advice or tips on growing spinach in my garden?

I am growing spinach in my garden this year for the first time and iis growing good but the leaves are all discolored and I dont why? Are'nt they supposed to be green? When can I harvest them and when I do, do I just pull off leaves to use or do I use the whole bunch???? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated as I have no idea!Need advice or tips on growing spinach in my garden?
As mentioned they will not do well at all and eventually die or bolt to seed in the summer..Here in Northwest Florida we don't even put our spinach out untill late December...To harvest you pull the outer leaves as you need them..do not pull the whole plant...Need advice or tips on growing spinach in my garden?
You didn't provide your agricultural zone (if you are in the US).

Are the leaf spots from sunscald?

Spinach is a cool weather vegetable and in the northern hemisphere it really isn't spinach season in many zones right now. When you harvest you pick the leaves. Since you don't want to decimate a plant to eat.....you should grow many plants at one time.

I'm a a 20 year old female college student and I need to makeover my negative thoughts, my procrastinating, my relationships and friendships and get my life in order. However every time I try I get Upset and depressed and give up then feel even worse. I need help and advice can someone please help guide me?I need some life makeover tips and advice?
i was the same way a little over 2 years ago

its took me about a year for me to get my life together

and trust me most likely i was ten times worse then

    where you are now

the first thing i would say is to invest some time

into finding people that like you the way you are now

now being this bad time in your life

so that'll mean they'll be there for you when your not at

your best, then i would say invest some time

    in your health/appearance

    go get a makeover

buy a new outfit you'll feel great

then make some goals for yourself

    something to look forward too.

just remember in the end take it one

step at a time nothing good

ever happen in one night you have

to spend time on it and there always going

to be good and bad times in your life just don't lose

    yourself over it just remember

tomorrow will come and your bad day

    will be in the past

good luckI need some life makeover tips and advice?
Don't try to change everything at once. Take baby steps. Start with the simple things like hair %26amp; clothes. Then after you see what you can accomplish go for something else like getting organized.

  • I am looking for advice and tips on the best ways when trying to conceive?

Hi I am looking for advice on the best on what to do when trying to conceive. I am looking for my sister. She is trying to have a baby and she has tried for awhile with no results. What would you suggest for someone trying to make a little bundle of joy. Thanks everyone!I am looking for advice and tips on the best ways when trying to conceive?
First off make sure she has had a gyno check-up lately.

get her to start charting her cycle ei:taking temps every morning, checking cervical mucus and just monitoring symptoms in general.

Also, suggest a good book on fertility-my favorite is ';Taking charge of Your Fertility';.

It's very informative and helps out alot.

you might tell her about Ovulation Predicting Tests if she hasn't already tried them.

The key is to relax(yeah right)and just really know your body and have good timing.

Hope this helps:)I am looking for advice and tips on the best ways when trying to conceive?
Do what calebsmom said and she should also start taking prenatal vitamins immediately so the pregnancy is sustained after conception. Only about 30-40% of conceptions lead to sucessful pregnancies mostly bc the baby doesn't get the nutrients they need in the beginning.
Just in case it's the dad (it takes two to tango) - boxer shorts, no hot baths, and Proxeed:

    www.proxeed.com

    Worked for us.
sometimes people are doing everything right, like OPKs and having sex often etc, but if it's taking her too long, she should check with her obgyn to make sure everything is ok on her end but also her partners...they can do a general check up to make sure everything is ok... you can also an RE (fertility specialist) online for free to get their opinion, specially if it's been like over 6 months that they've been trying, if it's less probably no need, try www.FertilityTies.com

    good luck!

Need tips and advice with eating when bored and or depressed?

I'm trying to get healthy and lose a few pounds. Anyways I eat when I'm bored and when I'm sad and depressed. (I have depression so it makes it hard) Anyways I was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice for me.

I know I should snack on fruits and veggies but when I'm bored and or depressed I crave junk or bad food : (

Reasons I'm bored I'm out of school till fall, I don't have a job and have very few friends

But please I need help and tips with my eating issuesNeed tips and advice with eating when bored and or depressed?
First off, I feel ya. I get depressed so easily, and I always reach for cookies or Chocolate. It's hard to break old habits, but I've been trying to eat healthier. First, I try to get rid of anything that might tempt me, like the junk food. I ate up all my junk food and didn't buy any more. That way, when I do get hungry and I have to eat something, I reach for something healthier. You don't have to totally eliminate Chocolate or cookies. I eat the chocolate covered raisins (sounds gross, but they're really good) or a chocolate granola bar. I also eat fruit snacks or the 100 Calorie packs of cookies.

If you want to stop eating that kind of stuff all together, try chewing different flavored gum. I chew cinnamon or mint gum, usually one that's taste lasts long.

Best of luck with the whole situation!!! I hope this helps.

Standing fan tips/advice for power and silence?

How many blades is best 3 or 5 (for air flow and silence) ?

Narrow or wide blades (likewise) ?

What determines a quiet fan ?

    Plastic or metal blades ?

    Optimal angles of blades ?

I want a stand fan for my room. Silence is of extreme importance.Standing fan tips/advice for power and silence?
The more blades and the wider they are, the greater the air flow. The number of blades doesn't affect silence.

Most of the noise in a fan comes from two sources: the motor, and vibrations caused by slight imbalances in the weight from one blade to the next. Normally higher quality (typically more expensive) fans are built with better motors, and more accurately balanced blade assemblies, resulting in quieter operation.

If in doubt, get a fan with multiple speeds, and use the speed that you find to provide the best combination of flow and silence.

I have an interview on Monday for a bank manager's job - do you have any tips or advice you can offer me?

It's about 4 years since my last job interview. So absolutely wracked with nerves - not like me!I have an interview on Monday for a bank manager's job - do you have any tips or advice you can offer me?
Practice, practice, practice. Here is a website that will help you practice behavioral style interview questions. Alot of companies are using this style of interviewing. http://www.tspractice.comI have an interview on Monday for a bank manager's job - do you have any tips or advice you can offer me?
First two big issues are confidence and an interest in the company that you want to to take it further. Express how you would motivate and inspire colleagues and where you see the company/branch in years to come (hopefully with more money would be a bonus for a bank lol) but seriously as stupid as it sounds knowing as much if not more about the company than whoever is interviewing you will get you big points on the employment list. Hope it all goes well for you
Not being funny, but I think if you have to ask that Question then you aren't ready for such a position. ( lol ! I just knew you were going to give me a thumbs down ! would you thumbs down a loan ? ) xx

  • Tips/advice on how to have a good beginning to a story?

I know things like don’t start the story with “ My name is, and I’m – years old(and then rattling on about where they live and stuff), and “I’m running/I run”. So skip that stuff! :PTips/advice on how to have a good beginning to a story?
Try to start it with something happening, not the writer/narrator talking. A bit of action is good, but don't start it in, like, the middle of a war. Try to have some drama, but don't make it too dramatic. Do not start it off with a big bundle of descriptions: that makes the reader automatically think, ';Boring,'; and walk away.Tips/advice on how to have a good beginning to a story?
You could use things like imagery, or scenery, you know? You could describe the setting... or you could use an anecdote. I suppose it would all depend on exactly what you want to talk about. It's not always bad when you start with ';My name is Jane Doe';, or something like that, but you'd have to put something interesting behind it, such as, ';My name is Jane Doe and this is how I died...'; or you know, something interesting like that. Or, you know, you can start off with something funny, like a joke or something to get the reader interested. What ever you want to do will make the story great, I think. Good luck.
You should start with what the character is thinking about at the moment that kinda descri we him wether he's random, misterious,or just plain weird.I also agree to describe the setting:)good luck on your story
you can start with a qoute

I am truly in love with my boyfriend and we've been dating for almost two years now. We've agreed not to have sex for a few more years, but he wants to do EVERY other sexual thing there is to do, besides sex itself. I'm more into sex than being eaten out, or give a ********.. Grossed out? I don't think so!

    Advice on giving a bj:

    1. Avoid teeth.

    2. Don't take so much in your mouth that you gag..

    3. Use your hand on the lower part of his penis.

    4. Keep it wet.

    5. Swallow.

Does it take alot of water to raise a young banana tree. any advice / tips on raising bananas?

MUSA or banana can be grown by home gardeners two ways. You want a nice looking tropical plant that you can light up next to your pool at night, or do you want fruit to eat? because you can't have it both ways.

If you want the beautiful ornimental lush green, inviting tropical by the pool you'll need a different set of rules. protectiong it from everything that comes natural for the production of good fruit. ever see a banana tree in it's natural suroundings? it's a sad looking, shreaded, beat up, sorry looking thing. wind and rain rip those fat wide leaves apart in no time. but who cares, they want the fruit, to hell with how the tree looks! if you want it pretty instead of fruity, its all in the... locatation, location, location.

Plant out of the wind. make that out of a strong breese. protest from hot afternoon sun. lots and lots and lots of water and high nitrogen plant food and it should look fairly nice by the pool. with luck, a small bunch of tiny bananas the size if fat fingers may actually grow. but if you're looking for the those big, long, yellow things you buy at the store, forget it. at least anywhere north of a sign that reads ';welcome to the united states';. only but a few of the hardest members of the san diego rare fruit growers association, will ever come close.

I took a shot at the banana about 15 years ago. i clucked over my trees like a mother hen. i got bananas. two stalks of the sadest looking, stubby, greenish blackish, stringy tasting mush i ever ate. (sorta reminds me of their offical name... MUSA.) but what the heck, i had alot of fun. ( and isn't that what gardening is all about?!)

here is everything you ever wanted to know about growing bananas this side of panama city...

    %26lt;www.ccmg.davis.ecu/gardenlink...

on the other end you'll hook up with some of the oddest, but knowlegeable master gardeners i every avoided at our meetings. most are members of the ';california rare fruit growers association';. these are hard working entheists attempting to grow all the rare tropical fruits that just won't grow in san diego. but they keep trying, bless them.

    Good Luck.

Advice and tips for getting into unviersity?

I'm a high school sophmore right now and during my freshmen year I got an embarassing 3.33 G.P.A. . I plan on attanding the big schools like Stanford, UCLA, Pepperdine, etc. Can anyone give me the good requirements for these schools and any good helpful tips? I really want to work hard and not get distracted because im a gamer as well. Thanks !Advice and tips for getting into unviersity?
3.33 is not a bad gpa at all. however, get into some extracurriculars. join a sport. go out for student government. do volunteer work. become an intern. grades aren't everything. check the schools' websites for their minimum SAT scores if they have any. that's what you have to shoot for. good luck!Advice and tips for getting into unviersity?
Hey if you plan on getting into one of those schools a 3.33 won't cut it and obviously you know that. Extra curriculars for a school like that would stand out a little from the thousands of other applications. I think the thing that makes the biggest difference is a letter of recommendation. I went to school with a girl and it took a letter from 2 former presidents and a former vice president to get into Princeton and she was the Valedictorian of her class and had a 4.0 (99.8) GPA. If you want to get into one of those big schools the games are more than likely going to have to go my friends. Spend most of your time studying or doing other activities to make yourself stand out. Otherwise settle for a different college. Anyway good luck,

Any advice/tips for traveling in a vehicle with a cat?

We are taking our cat to Florida with us to visit friends. We live in Michigan. Our friends have a dog, but the two have 'met'. Any advice on how to keep our cat comfortable/calm for the ride?Any advice/tips for traveling in a vehicle with a cat?
Get a good sized kennel that will hold a litter box along with a small food dish and a water dish that mounts onto the front of the cage - or stop and offer water if you think the water might just be spilled. Make sure you introduce your cat to the concept of riding in a cage before you take off for a long trip. Short trips around the block should help your cat get aquainted with the idea. Make sure your cat has a collar with identification tags on it (or a microchip). An escaped cat can't tell anyone how to get hold of you - make sure you put a number to contact you where you are going to be. Your home number isn't much use if you are in Florida.

Your cat might not remember the dog so be slow in reintroducing the two - a kennel to hide in is a good idea and a good investment. Don't let your cat out of the Florida home to get lost. Either it must stay in or be on a leash for safety. Better safe than sorry.

We travelled across Canada twice with our cats. I don't think kennels were even invented then. Our cats were used to going in the car/truck/van and we never had any problems. Okay one problem - water. We tried to bring as much water from home as possible (I still do when we go camping) but maybe bottled water has solved this problem now. Strange water and the runs do not make happy cats.Any advice/tips for traveling in a vehicle with a cat?
Here is a great video that I found on you tube that might be able to help answer your question better:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2mykgjIR鈥?/a>

I would also suggest that you start as soon as possible to get your cat ready for a ride in his/her pet crate. Start by making small trips around the block and be sure to give your cat a nice treat as a reward when you get home from the short trip. As long as your cat is comfortable with his/her carrier, you should'nt really have any problems.
I just moved out of state with 2 cats who had to drive with us. I would recommend going to your vet and getting some kind of medicine that will make it tired and sleep on your way. We put our cats in a big kennel and put food, water, and a small litter box. Hope this helps and good luck!!

I start college soon and I'm scared, any tips or advice for me?

It's so different from high school! I keep forgetting the the classes I picked are only a semester long and not a year, like in high school. I'm scared that I will get lost and be late! I'm freaking out! The campus is so big! I start on Aug. 25th. I start college soon and I'm scared, any tips or advice for me?
be yourself. act confident even if you dont feel it. and if you fancy having a bit of a change. such as clothes. or hair style. now is the time to do it. because nobody will know any different.. the new people that you meet at college. and smile lots. people respond well to a welcoming smile. you will make new friends in no times. and as for getting lost and being late. get there early the first few times and have a wander round a familiarise yourself with the buildings you use. thats what i did in my first year of uni last year and it really helped! good luck :-) I start college soon and I'm scared, any tips or advice for me?
Get this book ASAP ';What Smart Students Know'; by Adam Robinson.

Excellent primer on how to handle professors and course workloadd as well as how to get the work done.

As far as getting around a big school - follow the other newbees. The crowd effect will help keep you moving in the right direction.

Plus college professors by and large do not care if you are on time to class or not. Totally different attitude about attendance - so being late is not a big the first month.
Take a deep breath and calm down. Now, you won't be the only freshman who gets lost so don't worry about it. Walk the campus and get to know all the classroom building locations. Once classes start you won't forget when they end. Yes college is different - you will be making your own choices and you won't always make the right choices. But this is a big step in growing up, the start of a new life adventure. Dive into it and get the most out of it. Good luck!
you will LOVE it. It will be FUN.....Mark my WORDS...........you are just experiencing EXCITEMENT over the unknown. But it will be SO MUCH FUN and you will LOVE it.....you WONT get lost.....Just Remember the NAME of the building they all have different NAMES and you can always ASK people on the Campus are amoung the NICEST you will ever meet. Because they are HAPPY to be in such a fun, and exciting place.
You should plan to get tours of the classes and memorize the classes and also make sure you have all the stuff you need for your books and papers. that's all i know. I'm going in 7th grade but I'm a straight A student and am always organized.
I'm assuming that you'll be getting to campus before classes actually begin. On one of those first few days, print off your class schedule and find your classes. Time how long it takes you to walk from one class to the one that follows. Figure out the shortest path. You'll be well prepared for your first day.

Tomorrow is my first day of mma training im nervous and need some advice/tips?

Ok well MMA is the first sport I've ever done and will probably be the ONLY sport I'll do. I/ve always wanted to train and also fight in mma. Whats it like? Im kinda nervous!Tomorrow is my first day of mma training im nervous and need some advice/tips?
Relax - you won't be expected to know anything the first day. It's school - you're there to learn, and the instructors are there to help you. You'll probably feel a little awkward the first few classes, but you'll learn the routines quickly and start to really enjoy it after a couple of weeks. Stick with it and it will pay off!

I would also show up 15 minutes early if you can, just to meet some students, make sure you are dressed right, and check in with the instructor before class. You may learn something before class even starts!

The first day you'll probably start with some basic exercises - pushups, situps, shadowboxing, and general warmup type stuff. If you can't keep up, don't sweat it. It will come. Then you'll probably get into some technical stuff (takedowns, punches, defense). The daily lesson changes, but it's usally a focus on one or 2 things with drills to practice. Hopefully you'll get some one-on-one time with an instructor or a higher ranking student to help you catch up and learn the basics. Before you know it class will be over. Take whatever you learn home and practice! Show them that you are a hard worker, and you'll do great.

If you're concerned with sparring, don't be. It will be a long time before you are in the ring with someone.Tomorrow is my first day of mma training im nervous and need some advice/tips?
Recognize that ';MMA'; isn't really (yet, at least) a distinct, separate art. Instead, it generally consists of a mix of wrestling, jiu jitsu/grappling, and a striking art such as muay thai. And, depending on the person's background, it might include other skills, such as boxing or judo.

Usually, someone will be stronger in one area than another. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Recognize, too, that your instructor (or instructors), too, probably will favor one art or skill over another. Perfectly understandable. It's just that, ultimately, you want to be well-rounded.

That's the long-term. Short-term, don't be nervous at all. You'll find that a lot of time, more than you'd expect, will involve stretching and warm-ups. Then a lot of the time will (or at least should) involve conditioning. And, even as you progress, much of your time will involve warm-ups and conditioning.

Listen closely to your instructor(s). For instance, when they tell you to tap when you feel a submission working, tap. And ask questions. There will be a lot of moves, especially in jiu jitsu, that you won't get at first. And there are slight little techniques that make certain moves very, very effective. They're subtle. Make sure you're learning those. If you're not sure, ask. Even if you think you've mastered a move, ask the instructor to review it and suggest improvements.

When it comes to open mats or ';rolling'; with others, always try to go up against someone more skilled than you. Always. That's the way you'll learn. Don't take the easy way out and go up against people of your own skill level, or lower than your own skill level.

And stick with it. Be persistent.

Do that, and you'll be fine.

    Hope that helps.
The training varies, depending on coaching staff, but I wouldn't be too nervous if I were you. Just always remeber that your coaching staff is there to make sure you have all the weapons in your arsenal that you need and to keep you safe in the cage dude. The most important tip/advice I could give is to make sure you listen well to your instructors. Afterall this is why your institution is in the business because they know the business. The entire point is so that ';you personally'; know every aspect of what you need to know to win and to stay safe in the cage. Most coaches are easy going laid back fellas with really good attitudes and they're usually full of humor, so once they ';break the ice'; you should feel right at home. As long as you listen and stick to the ';technique'; you're being shown and they see that you're coming along quite nicely then you should fit right in dude. The only thing I'd worry about is ';Your Fellow Practictioners'; because they love to ';rook'; ( prank ) and mentally screw with the new guys coming in. This is why I have few stick around and a ton of would be ';students'; drop like flies. It's always my experienced students that have already fought in thses cage competitions that keep ';hurting the feelings'; of the new guys and hence they leave never to return again. It will be your fellow practitioners that mess with you the most trust me on that one. They want to see that you have the mental toughness and fortitude to stick with it so don't let what ever they do or say get to you too badly. Even my experienced students will say some of the rudest sh*t I've ever heard to one another, but it's all in good fun and they know how to take it as well as how to dish it out. It's all about developing a comrade like attitude with your fellow practitioners and this aspect takes months and even years to work out in your favor in some cases. In the long run you'll find that it's more about ';brotherhood'; than anything, but this takes a long time before you're going to fit in with the other practitioners around you. Things like trust are never assumed.... they are earned. You just stick with what your coaching tells you and work hard, your fellow practitioners will be watching and if they like your work ethic then they'll more than likely open up to you. You just stick to the work .... worry about the ';social aspect'; way later.

You'll find your self at the recieving end of some pretty bad jokes as well man starting out. Such as, ';hey man why are you here?'; maybe you respond with something like, ';I'm here to learn and practice dude'; so the come back to your resonse will be the old obvious, ';Yeah to practice rolling around on the ground with half naked men to cop a feel?.... you ain't funny are you?'; ..... little word games and come backs like these will be the norm dude. Pay it no mind and work hard. Because they'll mess you with hard dude.
Your first class should be focusing on getting used to warmup routines stretching and cardio workout you might do some light grappling but don't count on it . if this is what you want don't worry about what anyone else thinks just focus on what your instructors are teaching you soon you will be telling a new student the same thing even the best fighters had to take a first class. The journey of a 1000 miles begins with the first step ,enjoy it
It's just like any other Martial Arts Class. Just follow these video links and they'll help u out....

Those videos can help you because they'll show you what Tae Kwon Do looks like
if the mma school you are going to is a legit one and a good one......then dont worry they wont have you doing full contact sparring right away. they gotta break you in (not literally, lol) and get you prepped first. that can take a few weeks i would think.

Well who you train with is as important has how hard you train. So right now you need to get plenty of sleep, make sure you stretch, get plenty of carbs two hours before you get to class and take water with you. Best of luck.

What are some job interview tips and advice?

I have my FIRST job interview tomorrow at DQ grill and chill. I'm 16, I'm a girl. lol i just really need some tips and advice! im SUPER nervous about it. some call me shy. im afraid i might get to shy. please give all detailed adviceWhat are some job interview tips and advice?
Just be honest and answer any questions the best that you can. Remember that the person interviewing you has interviewed lots of ';first timers'; (new employees) and they know that you will be nervous and not know much about the business yet. Be sure to dress nicely, without any thing too revealing or anything like that. Congratulations and keep smiling :}What are some job interview tips and advice?
If they called you, assumed you got the job. They probably think you're good enough to get the job and that's why they call you. The most important now is to be their friend and get on their good side. Be prepared to answer basic interview questions and most of all, ask them questions. Act like you're interested.

Does anyone have any cheerleading tips or advice?

tryouts are in about 2 weeks.. im pretty nervous because i want to make it SO BAD! i have been working so hard for so long.. i want this so bad.. any tips that will help when tryouts come?Does anyone have any cheerleading tips or advice?
    sharp strong motions!!

high jumps-snap those legs together-point your toes

    huge smile

    yell from diaphram not lungs

take a deep breath before any tumbling pass (if any)

just have fun..you are doing something that you loveDoes anyone have any cheerleading tips or advice?
what grade are you in??? is it high school

all i can say is smile like crazy and DO NOT act all shy and stuff.

my freshman year, i was all shy and nice and i only made the freshman team when i had my round off flip flop back. (freshman was the lowest team)

so anyways, work a lot everyday on tumbling, jumps and getting stronger for stunting. also if you know some cheers, practice them. but at tryouts, smile sooo much, and be really perky. work on your voice too. try to be super loud, but not squeaky. use your diaphragm and keep it low. it may sound weird but it ends up sounding good in a group. don't show that your nervous, thats really bad to the judges. good luckkk i hope you make it!!
Do your best....girls are catty bitches, if you don't make it, don't let it bother you..
Be sure to have a perfect toe touch, pike, hurdler, and herkies.

And try to have some tumbling, though some schools don't care too much about it.

If your a flyer, be sure to stay TIGHT and keep BALANCED.

If your a base, be sure to hold the flyer still and try NOT TO MOVE around too much and listen to the counts.

If your a backspot or frontspot be sure to NEVER take your eyes off the flyer because she is trusting you.

If your a tumbler, be sure to NOT move to much while tumbling, by this a mean if you finished a round-off and are going into your backhandspring, try not to move around too much while you are transitioning.

Also, good luck, try hard, and STAY SAFE!
Try to be as friendly as you can, with a big smile on your face. Be peppy and loud. Also, keep in mind that you will be learning tumbling, so stay in shape, for physical activity, and have fun!

Don't worry if you don't make it. You can try out the next year and do even better! Good luck!
you need to wear a tight mini skirt
Tubling is a MAJOR plus. Be sharp. Work on jumps, be lound and SMILE :)

REMEMBER ALL OF THIS AND YOU CANT LOSE.

    GOOD LUCK.
be confident go in there knowing that you can do it.. if you don't have confidence in yourself you probably won't make the team... stretch a lot so that you don't hurt yourself at tryouts practice jumps and tumbling skills.. remember when cheering that you are cheering not singing and make sure your voice is loud and very clear keep a smile on your face and keep your head up... i'm sure you'll do fine!
Someone asked this question a few weeks ago, and here is the answer I gave:

Make sure you do stradle stretches. Sit with your legs spread as far as they can before it hurts. Reach to one of your feet until it hurts a little, count to ten, and then go to the middle and do the same thing, and the other foot as well.

Practicing your splits every day after this stretch will help you immensly. Also practicing things like toe touches on a trampeline will help as well.

Stand in front of the mirror and practice your hand motions. Make sure you do proper ';doughnut'; hands and if you need help on how those look google it for a picture.

Use a loud, strong voice, and SMILE SMILE SMILE! The coaches want confidence!

I hope you do well! Good luck!

As a single mum i would like some tips and advice on how to pleasure myself.?

I am going to Japan tomorrow, and I need tips, advice an causions!?

Japanese people are very strict about there rules and stuff I hear.

If you have any tips, advice or causions I need to be aware of before I go, please tell me! Anything you can think of. I am going for 2 weeks, and I am from Canada.I am going to Japan tomorrow, and I need tips, advice an causions!?
I think Japanese are going to be understanding especially with foreigners. I recently was there and found the culture amazing, the country beautiful and the people as helpful and friendly.

    Tips:

Don't eat while walking around - hardly anyone does this because it is considered rude. The only person I saw eating on a commuter train was a bum.

I bought a little washcloth because often the many temples you visit and other places don't have paper towels to wipe your hands after you wash them.

Make sure that you pay attention to signs. Some places / temples don't allow photographs. I saw one person get his camera taken away by a priest/monk. It was an ordeal and he was told no pictures but didn't listen.

Japan is really safe so no worries walking around at night or carrying a bunch of money on you.

Take lots and lots and lots of pictures. I took 600 and I wish I had more. Don't just take temple pictures but of everything: the people, the signs, the buildings the food everything!!!!!

Try the candy and cookies and crackers. A lot of that stuff is hard to get where you live.

If you have a tatoo, cover it up. It may not be such a big deal if you look like a tourist but I know that some japanese onsen don't allow tatooed people in and you need to buy some makeup to cover it up.

Japanese don't typically shake hands, they bow.

Get in line - don't just bum rush into the bus or train. Wait inline and be patient. I noticed that when I walked down a busy train station or busy street - nobody ever bumped me. If you do accidently bump someone then say - Sumimasen (excuse me).

Keep cash with you always. Japan is very cash based. Many people take credit cards but those little restaurants and local stores only take cash.I am going to Japan tomorrow, and I need tips, advice an causions!?
If you are visiting someone's house take off your shoes at the door.

Don't be offended if you speak to someone in English and they completely blank you, they are not being rude, but if they feel that they are not very good at speaking English they don't want to offend you so won't try and talk back, this doesn't happen very often but just to warn you.

Stick to the one side on the escalators.

Expect to get squished in the elevators or on the train, they really pack them in.

a good word to learn is ';Suimasen'; which means excuse me, I would like service, would you like service, even hello in some cases. It can be used in a number of ways and so is good to know.

If you are having an alcoholic drink in a pub you have to order food! THIS IS A MUST it is illegal not to eat if you are drinking in Japan, usually they bring you a small dish when you first sit down but ordering more food is expected.

Hope you have an amazing time!
They don't use spoon/fork, they use chopsticks most f the time.

    Prices of products are expensive.

Most grocery shops are on sale on chosen days, like Erena

    Not most speak English.

When going to the grocery bring an extra bag to put your items bought. you could save 2 yen by doing that.

Japanese people starts their agenda on time.
Do not tip at restaurant or other places.

Do not talk on cell phone on train or bus.

Stay at left when you are on escalator for 2 people.

Let passengers exit first when you are about to get on train.
You should put a Canadian-flag patch on your backpack as every Canadian does in Japan.

Have any tips/advice/excercises for a new horse owner?

So my grandpa took in two horses because they needed a home and were having trouble finding someone to take in both of them. Problem is i have no idea how to care for them. I understand the basic of basics, like brushing (which i've been doing), and some body language like they're irritated when they're ears go back, but i hate to say it but i am a little afraid of them (esp the bigger one) and I'm wanting to start walking them. What i mean is walking them while i walk beside them. I tried a few times but Roudy and Sassy just knock their head up and down and pin they're ears back. It got to the point where my sister would get in front of them and offer them a carrot while keep stepping back. Eventually i'd like to ride them but i'd like to bond and get over my fear first...... So long story short.... any tips? Thanks!Have any tips/advice/excercises for a new horse owner?
It's better for a new owner to be scared of horses than to be over confident. The problem is, the horses might be feeling your nervousness and feeding off of it.

One good way to bond with a horse is to just spend time with it petting and praising it. We clicker train our horses as it's a fun way to teach them tricks and really helps you bond with them. It's very easy and something that even the most inexperienced beginners can do. All you need is a 3-4 foot long wooden stick and a plastic pool float (ours is red) to put on the end of it. Also, you will need a clicker, you can buy those at a petstore, they are used a lot with dogs. Next you get the horse used to the clicker by clicking, then immediatly giving him a handfull of food or a treat. I take my horse's feed for the evening and put it in a fanny pack so it's right beside me and I'm not giving her a lot of extra treats, just her regular feed. After a couple of days of this, (working for about 15 minutes a day, or until the feed runs out) you can move on to introducing the target. Show the horse your target and when they sniff it, say ';target'; and then click and feed. Soon your horse will realize that when you say ';target'; the horse will touch the target. You can move it up, down left and right and watch the horse do it as well. Once you have done that you can teach them tricks, like the command ';up'; to lift up their hooves for you to hold, ';bow'; for them to bow down, and other ground movements. By that time you should be well aquainted with your horses and they should know you so you can start working with them.

For the target training, you can work in a stall or pasture without a halter on. This is great because it will show the horses that you just want to have some fun with them, no work and no halters. They will bond closer with you and it is their choice to come work with you, you aren't making them do it. After you have earned their trust, you should be able to lead them. If you need help, you can tease them with the target, holding it in front of them for them to walk on and try to get it. If you move like you want to go somewhere, your horse will follow.

Also, if you are newer, I would start taking lessons with a local trainer. I worked for a trainer over the summer one year, and in return I got lessons. In reality, every day was a learning experience, and by the end of the summer I had worked with foals, taught a filly how to lunge, helped diagnose diseases, and worked with all sorts of tack and riding levels. I also worked with and rode several different types of horses so I got over any fears I had (I was very pampered to a horse that required no maintenence and practically knew what you wanted him to do). This helped me a lot, and over that summer I probably doubled my knowledge about horses.

Hope the horses work out great!Have any tips/advice/excercises for a new horse owner?
First, don't let the horses scare you too much. They sense your fear and will react accordingly. It's great that you're brushing them and spending time with them though; it's great for bonding. Continue doing that and give them treats sporadically when you're spending time with them. (Don't give treats on a consistent basis...they will come to expect treats every time they see you.) Use lots of soft touches and soothing voices. Start out with walking them with their halters and lead lines. If and when you want to start riding, I would get a professional to help you start out and to give you riding lessons. In the mean time, keep spending quality time with the horses!

Also, were they ever abused? If so, that would change things.

    Good luck! :)
Bond? Look, these are large animals they are not your friends. They are herd creatures, which will dominate you, step on you, bite you, in other words being a novice with the wrong attitude will get you hurt.

Safety first. Do not hand feed. Put food in a feed pan. Hand feeding can lead to biting. Sounds like your sister is already setting the both of you up to be bitten.

You must become the leader of the herd. These horses can sense your fear and will use it to buffalo you, taking advantage and dominate you.

Project confidence, even if you don't feel it.

The safe way to lead is to hold one hand close to the halter and walk to the side and slightly in front in a leadership position. Carry the excess lead rope in your other hand, that way if the horse spooks or pulls away you can let go of the hand closest to the halter and still have control of the lead rope. Have the expectation that the horse will follow your lead, and it will.

Click your tongue making a noise that says move. And they will move. Once movement begins then lead.

Do not get in any kind of a physical pulling contest with a horse, you will lose. If you pull on them, they will pull on you, and you will lose.

If you tie them up to anything make sure it is meant to have a horse tied to it. You do not know the history on these animals and pulling while tied is the number one bad behavior of horses.

If you tie them to something that was not meant as a tie post and they pull back they are strong enough to pull anything down, creating havoc and possible injury.

Seek professional help as soon as possible, or at least go to the library and get a book on basic horsemanship and further your knowledge. The more you know the less your fear will be.

Do not attempt to ride until you have mastered your fear on the ground. You will be setting yourself up for failure if you do.

I really hate it when people have preconcieved ideas that are not realistic. Horses are the most romanticised animal on our planet. They will hurt you. Knowledge is power. Begin immediately to educate yourself, or face some potential serious consequences, like broken bones.

Have I scared you? Good, a little fear is a healthy thing. It will keep you respectful of the power of the animals you now want to bond with.
First of all you need someone who can give you professional or knowledge hands on help. You can learn alot from written advice but the best way to learn is to have someone show you.

Cookies and carrots are good bribes. Soothing voice works really well also. Make them comfortable to be around you and it will help you overcome your fear. Two tips to always remember: never approach a horse head on or from the back, always approach a horse at the shoulder - this way they will be able to see you.

    Good luck and have fun!
Keep brushing them picking up there feet picking them.Try also lunging them, then walk them.If you have fear they do no.So stand on your own teo ft %26amp; show them your in control.Every day it will get easer.

  • Does anyone have any tips or advice for ensuring a smooth house move?

Like, seeing as I'm moving tomorrow, when is the best time to start packing........??Does anyone have any tips or advice for ensuring a smooth house move?
Get someone else to do it for you. I did and my drawers got broken.Does anyone have any tips or advice for ensuring a smooth house move?
Little expert in this, have a tactical plan for moving. Item one

if your using a car always plan to have food and some clothes in the first load.

Two second load, clothes and bed items.

light goods next. if have children tv or other items such as playstations.

    Third load.

items that you want to use that night.

    so on

final load item that you really need a hand with, in the last move i helped with this was the 50 inch plasma along with other light items to help protect it. also helped as it was dark by the time and less snopping eyes about to see it been brought in.
I'm not the best for advice on this one.

We sold our last house to an American couple and we agreed to be out the house at 2.00pm. They rang our mobile at 2.05 pm to say if we weren't out the house by 2.15pm they would call the police as we were trespassing.

Having been steam cleaning the bog this didn't go down to well....Mr Haz saw red and emptied a bin bag full of rubbish all over the stairs and booted a load of cat litter around the kitchen :-(

We left the house at 2.20pm and with smug expressions.
Get a small book and mark the pages out a - z. Get all your boxes/packing crates around you and number them. If you are putting pans in box number 3 then on page P of the book write Pans - BOX 3. Carry on that way and you will know where everything is when you need it. Then make sure that you have that book safely within your care. It always worked for us because i wouldn't allow anyone to do anything else!
Label boxes and make sure you have a separate one for tea, sugar, coffee, kettle, mugs, spoons and anything you will need to get your hands on so you can eat and have a cuppa then the rest can be done when you want.

Do most tonight apart from the essentials pack them in the morning
Stuff like kettle, pans, cups etc should be packed in a box that's ready as soon as you get there. You don't want to be rummaging around for these things. Pack a bag with some scruffs in too. A change of clothes, toothbrush etc and tea making kit will make moving house a lot easier. Nearly forgot to say, stereo is crucial too!
Pack each area in separate labeled boxes, and more importantly, pack the stuff you use every day it its own box and label well so you can start your unpacking with those boxes. Make sure you wrap all breakables with bubble wrap or newspaper.
Now would be good actually. Label your boxes as well, no hassle if you have little time to ubnpack and your stuff is in lesser danger of getting all mashed up in the van/car whatever else you are using for a move.
Definitely leave everything to the last minute.

Run around like a blue arsed fly at the last minute, that's the way I usually do things...
    sunday probably ! lol

best thing is to form a human chain from door to door and just pass everything down the line, done in no time lol x
start packing now and dont forget to label boxes so you know where to look for your kettle and coffee when your unpacking! best of luck
You are asking the impossible. There is bound to be a bit of a panic over something.
Call all your boyfriends with pickup trucks and make them an offer they won't want to refuse.
Yup have a beer and do the packing in the morning!
    You want smooth?

Pay someone else to do it.
the morra mornin.just chill tonight :)
lol, hope you have already started unless it's just a black bag u have to pack :)
A few weeks ago Duchess lol--good luck in your new home!
    dinner time. you'll be fine!

    And panic!!
all can say is ';GOOD LUCK'; you'll definitely need it :)

Tips or advice for a Stay-at-home Mom retuning to work?

I'm 24 years old with an almost 3 year old daughter. I want to return to work when she starts preschool in the fall. Any tips for resume updating or general advice on the topic is greatly appreciated.Tips or advice for a Stay-at-home Mom retuning to work?
The work place has changed dramatically since the industrial revolution and feminist movement. Women no longer wanted to work at home, they decided to take a stand along side men at work. Equal rights and equal salaries were being fought for by women everywhere. The feminist movement was said to have begun in the 19th century as people began to adopt the perception that women are living in a male-centred society. These thoughts are still evident today with feminists continuing to fight for conditions which they see to be unfair to women. They observe that in most areas of the world, women still earn less than men on average and also hold less economic and political power.

However, there are some women who would like to spend a large amount of time with their children in the first few years after they are born. The choice between career and family is an issue faced by most women leading up to and after child birth, and this is a difficult decision to make.

Online businesses and marketing schemes make it possible for women to become successful whilst maintaining a close relationship with their children. These mothers are still able to witness a baby's first steps, watch the kids at play school and attend dancing lessons etc. as this can be so easily fit into a routine which can be adapted into everyday life.

The internet is a great advantage for work at home mums as they can learn how to utilise it and make it work wonders for them. The internet is a source of business, and the virtual community allows information and ideas to be made into money. Internet businesses can be ran by work at home mums; these women can provide a variety of functions and services, whilst maintaining their web pages. This way, mothers can still be important figures in the business world and at the same time: carers in the household.

The internet also allows work at home mums to communicate and network: they can connect to the outside world through forums, offering their advice on obstacles and struggles and sharing experiences. This is incredibly important as the nature of the 'stay at home' role implies that one would be cut off from the outside world. But this is simply not the case. The internet is a fantastic way of keeping in touch with contacts and making new ones. Communication in this way will make the whole process less overwhelming and a much more manageable task for the mothers concerned.

Affiliate programs is a term that refers to affiliates being able to leverage their traffic and customer base in order to make money from e-commerce. Merchants therefore benefit from increased exposure and sales. With affiliate programs, stay at home mums can earn two incomes: the first is the money made from her web site and the products she sells, and the other is by providing a link to an affiliates web site. By doing this, the affiliate will pay her each time someone visits their site from the owner's link.for more guide or info you can visit this coaching club go to:

Do you take tips/advices from children?! Do you listen to them when they give you an advice or so?

Because sometimes it may be the wisest advice you get鈥?Do you take tips/advices from children?! Do you listen to them when they give you an advice or so?
One of my kids keeps telling me that smoking is good for health and causes death

The other keeps telling me to stop looking at women while driving otherwise we'll end up with an accident

The youngest tells me ';fee 7ad yetkallem beltalee2a di?';Do you take tips/advices from children?! Do you listen to them when they give you an advice or so?
My 9 year old grand daughter over heard her mum and I talking about a good friend of mine, whose grown up kids are not happy about the new man in her life, and are giving her a hard time.

    My grand daughter looked up and said (we didn't realise she was listening)...';well i think Carols' family should mind their own business. She is there mum and they can't tell her what to do. she had brought them up and now they have got to let her be happy too.';

As they say..........out of the mouths of babes.

another time was when she was six she was watching me type on the pc, and i deleted my mistakes with the back spacer. She said ';granny, if you use those arrows there you can go right to the word you want to erase and not have to erase everything that you typed after that!!......i was so proud of her!!!

umm, wouldnt recommend that, speaking of their pure opinions about things ..well children of todays generation know more than they should and have hyper attitudes , they are unlikely to be called angels as long ago. they can state or critizise things that may distract ur attention to fix but to give a plain wise advice ..i doubt.
I listen to them, take their advices seriously and I think about it. All of that doesn't mean they have the experience or wisdom of old ages. They are just another way to learn for the people who search for new things to learn.
Every day I learn something from a child. There views are uncorrupted and it's all from the heart. They forgive so easy and love you unconditionally.I'd take the advice of a child any day.
yes. but sometimes children's advice can be too wise for the other to get it. and in the most cases it can get you to trouble.
yea sometimes i do depending the subject.love.craziness.friend ship.ETC.yea i would actually listen to them
You are exactly right.. children are brutally honest and would probably tell you the truth about weither you look fat or your house isn't clean enough before anyone else will!
yes, actually that what i have been trying in my childhood, but i dont think it was the WISEST advice!
    Yes, i would....

    Good questions! go girl!

Any tips or advice on how to be more outgoing? Any advice is appreciated!?

I am almost 17 and I have trouble speaking to new people and trying new things. Any tips or advice on how to be more outgoing? Any advice is appreciated!Any tips or advice on how to be more outgoing? Any advice is appreciated!?
Well, I think the best way is to put yourself into a situation where you wouldn't normally be comfortable. Kind of force yourself into it--Make sure it's something you are obligated to do, though. Like volunteering somewhere? You know you won't back out of helping at the food bank or the library or the animal shelter and you'll be forced to start interacting with those around you. I used to be shy as a kid, but that's the last thing I am now. I talk to anyone anywhere. You almost have to force yourself to get out there. When you go new places, introduce yourself. Trust me, nobody is going to think you're weird if you do. If you don't, they might think you're a snob, though. Remind yourself of that. Talk to the person who looks as shy as you. You'll end up making both of you feel more comfortable. Talk to someone while you're in line somewhere. Ask the person behind you if they are ready for the holidays--the conversation will flow from there. Practice makes perfect, but you need to make yourself do it or you'll be 30 and still shy. Usually the more outgoing people are, the better liked they are. You'll need those skills when you get to college and into the working world, so start working on them now! You can do it!Any tips or advice on how to be more outgoing? Any advice is appreciated!?
You have to really force yourself to change a few things, but if you follow these simple steps it will help a lot. I know because I used to be horribly shy (and still am on the inside!).

For one full week smile and say hello to two new people everyday. Then increase it by one person a week for the next three weeks.

Make sure you look directly at people when you are talking to them, no looking down!

Work on developing good posture, head up, eyes front, shoudlers straight. Seriously, use a book on the head method if you need to, it is a tryed and true way to work on posture.

Why the posture? Because when people have good posture and a direct look they look confident, a confident appearance causes people to respond to you in a very positive way. The positive responses actually make you feel less shy and more confident.

The smiling and saying hello forces you to interact, after a while that becomes a habit and you will do it without thinking. You don't have to converse if you don't want to, but I promise people will start initiating conversations with you!

Good luck dear, just remember one thing a little shyness is very becoming for woman, but too much shyness will keep you from enjoying a lot of things in life.
View the information and weblinks for social anxiety/shyness, and self confidence, in sections 9, and 38, (also section 28, on change) at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris Here is an exercise that can help you. It is called ';Act as If.'; When you are in a social situation, act as if you are outgoing. Talk more, smile at everyone, ask questions, speak in a normal or excited tone, not a meek tone. Watch some of your outgoing peers, and imitate the style of their social behavior. (I PRETEND that I'm an ACTOR, PLAYING a PART).

Research shows that when you ';act as if'; continually, your image of yourself begins to conform to your new behavior. In this case, you will gain self-esteem and self-confidence, and begin to see yourself as socially normal, not shy. You will become more socially successful, and this will motivate you to continue your new social behavior until it becomes a habit. Try this for a month, in every situation you can. I am confident that you will become much more comfortable and outgoing. One form of therapy is to go somewhere that nobody knows you, and deliberately make an utter fool of yourself: put on a paper hat, and scream out: ';I'm queen/king of America!';, or something else ridiculous, then get back in the taxi, (warn the driver of your intentions, first) or car, and leave.

People will point, and say: ';Look at that idiot';. But, you're probably not up to the stage where you can do that, yet (I can, and I used to be shy). It will teach you that, although it isn't actually pleasant, (EXPECT MODERATE DISCOMFORT) you will survive; be stronger for the experience, and the next time (should you need to repeat this type of therapy) will be considerably easier. Remember: ';A fear avoided is a fear strengthened; a fear faced is a fear reduced.'; Regard it as your final test: once you have accomplished it, the barrier will be broken; just don't go too far, the other way! Learn to laugh at yourself, and give a big, cheesy grin when others see you do something foolish, as we all do, occasionally. It is endearing, if you don't do it too often. Use positive affirmations: for example: ';I am very likable and other people feel comfortable around me';.

Write down all of your self limiting beliefs; then write down the positive counter of them, (exact opposite) and repeat them and imprint them into your mind. Most importantly: Force yourself to approach somebody and initiate some sort of communication. Start out small by asking the time and directions and gradually go bigger. Although there are anti-anxiety medications (anxiolytics) available, these come with risks, and the possibility of side effects, habituation, even addiction, and withdrawal problems, and are unsuitable for young people.

Try having a cup of ';Tension Tamer';, herbal tea, by Celestial Seasonings, (from supermarket tea, or health food aisles) or make some at home, and cool, then bottle, and drink as needed (I find it so strong tasting, that I need to drink it quickly, followed by something like fruit juice, to take away the taste, but others may find it more tolerable). C(h)amomile tea is a more palatable option. As with all herbal/green teas, use lemon/lime, and/or a little sweetener (NOT ARTIFICIAL!!!) but no cream, or milk.

Xylitol, or Stevia is preferable, (health food stores) or fruit sugar (fructose, such as ';Fruisana';, from supermarket sugar aisles). Valerian has also been recommended, but some people experience ';valerian hangovers';. Ensure you know how you react to it, before doing something potentially dangerous, like going out on the roads. The idea is to use the above like water wings, to provide initial, short term support, while you become proficient in those techniques. 40% of people are fairly suggestible. http://www.hypnosisdownloads/ has many: SEARCHBAR - ';social anxiety';. Try something new, soon, but safe, and start off small, then slowly work up..
My advice is really simple. Try new things and meet new people. The only way to get over being nervous and introverted is to do things that put you out there socially. Join clubs in school, socialize when you can, participate in activities. In doing these things you address both of your problems...meeting new people and socializing with them.

It worked for me. I joined the army, worked as a corrections officer and now am a nurse..I interact and talk with new people all the time.
Trust in Jesus and he will pull you through. If you haven't already, accept Jesus as your personal savoir and follow him. Follow the rightous words of the Holy Bible. Jesus is the way.

22And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

23And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

24Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Technical tips and advice for writing?

I would like some technical advice and tips for writing fanstatic narrative, specially sci-fi... I would appreciate it if you gave your own tips, or posted advice by recognized authors, schools, or whatever you find to be relevant.Technical tips and advice for writing?
Sci Fi is part of a larger genre of literature, called utopian fiction/literature. One of the main elements of good utopian fiction is the author's use of estrangement. This goal of this writer's tool is to make the reader/audience feel s/he is entering an environment that is alien as far as what the reader is used to in his/her ordinary life. So, for instance, on opening a utopian fiction, often you might notice the setting is unusual, or somewhere exotic or strange in your own life experience. The tool may be felt in how the author creates an alien mood in the writing, eerie, or at the least odd, to the reader. The goal beyond that, is to force the reader to open his/her mind to the concept of difference which is another element of the utopian literature. The focus of this kind of literature is ';difference';.

Utopian literature dates back to Plato's REPUBLIC, and ancient Greek writing. The concept of utopia, the perfect place begins with Plato, literarily speaking. It has evolved to the utopian space, as opposed to the utopian place, because we know there is no such thing as the perfect place, the perfect society, which is how and where the dialectical discussion began, in terms of society. Mankind has been trying to create a perfect society since his early beginnings.

Now, in post post-modern times we know that it is an impossible task, but we are not left without alternatives. The sticky part is that it is no longer relegated to the physical world but rather the space or our imaginations, the utopian space of our imaginations which is, of course, endless, infinite.

On top of that discussion, there is also the matter of our not being able to literarily describe utopia in the first place, as we have no firsthand knowledge of such perfection in our reality, the reality of life, existentially speaking. Things get a little abstract here. But, the result for utopian writers is that since we cannot describe utopia because nobody knows what it might look like we can imagine it, yet in so many cases you will find authors are much more likely to describe utopia by describing its opposite, called dystopia, in literary terms. Kinda like Heaven and Hell. What do we humans really know of either one. We get our images of them from human writers' imaginations, as far as we can prove. But, to prove my point, just look at all the great utopian science fiction, like 1984, Animal House, etal. And, you might want to recognize that some of the world's greatest writers' novels are utopian without being ';Fantasy'; or ';Science Fiction'; as such. Herman Melville's Moby Dick could be seen as a utopian novel if you consider it contains these elements I have been speaking of here. Perhaps you can begin to see a lot of literature has these elements and thus have utopian aspects to them. But, when these elements drive the narrative, then it becomes a piece of the genre.

I studied, and am still studying this genre, in my Master's Degree in English at Louisiana State University. You have but to do a Google Scholarly search to find these terms. I hope it helps you understand your task better.

CC RyderTechnical tips and advice for writing?
    I think you mean ';especially';...

I don't know any tips to give you, but I'll try to look it up on the net. I'm quite interested in learning how to write well, actually. I haven't done anything major, just one story for Language class, a lot of essays, the worst poems ever, and loads of other stuff, most of which has never been (and perhaps, will never be) seen by anyone else but me. Sci-fi sounds reaaallly interesting. Anything could happen. Maybe I'll try my hand at that.....
    Write what you feel.

Start by keeping a journal before you attempt a story. I found that writing in my journal really honed my writing skills.

My Husband and I are buying our first Home. What are some tips and advice that we should know???

We dont really know about different percentage rates and what they mean. We are going to use a VA Loan. We are buying in Columbia SC. We know to get a newer home. But what else should we know.My Husband and I are buying our first Home. What are some tips and advice that we should know???
Try and apple for the loan by yourself without your husband as a Co-applicant, or have him apply by himself without you as a Co-applicant. This is a great way of kepping the other persons credit good without it being tied into the mortgage. Just in case some day things get tough the other persons good credit can save you both. However in this case you would make sure and ask that both names go under the title.

One persons name for credit, both under the title.

Do try and get a conventianal fixed loan 15/20/30 years, you pick how many years would be best for you. Shop around for your loan before you find a house so that you know what you qualify for. This also gives you a chance to get the best rate.

You may want to check out this website i ended up getting my loan through them.

    http://www.amerisave.com/

They where straight to the point and got my my current loan which i love 15 year fixed at 4.625%.

Rates have gone up since then so don't expect to find this rate again. They do show all of their rates on line, if you fill in the calculator they have provided. I did a lot of research on this company and was satisfied when i found that they where rated as one of the best mortgage companies by both CNN and comsumers digest.

You need to find a real estate agent, if you know someone you can trust go for it. Ask relatives who they have dealt with and what their experience was like. If you find a house for sale that you really like and you do not have an agent yet, contact to agent who is selling it this will increase your chances of getting the home as he will probably push the sale to you, because he would get double the commission.

Make sure you learn about the neighborhood, how safe is it? How far is it from your work? how far is it from your family, how far are the schools? how far is the nearest market? etc... All these thing will have an effect in your life, for example how much money you will be spending in gas going back and forth every day. I have known some people who have bought cheap homes far away and thought they where saving money, yet they now spend all their savings on gas, and mechanical repairs (wear %26amp; tear) to their cars.

Negotiate your price after all this is a buyers market. My Husband and I are buying our first Home. What are some tips and advice that we should know???
You will be getting alot of good advice.........all im going to say is have a house inspector check out house before you buy also check out why the person is selling as well your neighbors...about 10 years ago friends of ours bought a house then found out a woman had been murdered in it and by law the realtor had no obligation to tell her... they never did move in to house and never got deposit back.......

so its ';caveat emptor'; buyer beware
I'm sure you and your husband have lots of questions. If you go to www.worldclassfinancialgroup.com there is an information tab. Go to the learning center. I'm sure all your questions will be answered there.

    Good Luck to you both!!
DO NOT pay any lender an ';Origination fee';..Go to another lender if they want to charge you any fees that you dont think are right. DO not only shop at one lender. A mortgage broker or a bank is in the business of renting money. They are not doing you a favor like the same as if you are asking your brother-in-law for a loan...it is NOT the same at all.

Too many slick lenders...One of them is the large ';BAnk Of America';...too many banks take advantage of the human tendancy not to be to forceful when borrowing money..but this is different...look at it like you are renting a car...would you pay Hertz $200 per day for a mustang if Enterprise is renting the same Mustang for $100??? Treat lenders the same.

Get what is called a ';Good faith Estimate'; from at LEAST 3 completely different lenders...not all on the same website or from the same broker...go to three different banks or one mortgage co and 2 banks etc..... then, remember to look for any bogus charges like ';points'; or ';origination fees'; etc...

These things are sometimes negotiable and not everyone charges them. Refuse to pay them and if they wont remove them, GO somewhere else!! There are plenty of lenders whose good faith estimate of the charges you will incuur to initiate the loan are only charging the things that they have to..like a survey, and document stamps to the city, etc....

dont treat them the same as a person you are borrowing money from...treat them as a business that is wanting to rent something to you (in this case money) and you are the customer. Too many lenders charge bull$#@^ fees in the closing costs because they know first time borrowers are acting as if they are doing them a favor...and also because they know you may overlook fees they stick in there and they act like ';everyone'; charges these fees...because they know you may overlook the fees also because its not like you are paying them out of your pocket now...The fees are ';figured into the mortgage';...but you still are paying them in the long run....ask the lender about every single line on your good faith estimate and ask ';does every lender charge this with no exceptions?'; Because only about half charge ';origination fees'; (which is the biggest rip off in the lending industry and VERY common) and about half charge ';points'; but they all have to pay taxes and pay for a title search etc....Mainly remember to scrutinize the good faith estimate that you ask them all for, and tell them you aint paying this this and this and if they wont cross it off,,,go to somewhere that doesnt charge these things.

Email me at perryinjax@yahoo.com if you have any questions about if a specific line item on a good faith estimate of closing fees is legitimate and I will tell you if you should have to pay it or if they are scalping you. Banks make millions per year charging poor rookies $2000 ';origiation fees'; and such...that are not necessary at all...
    Get a home inspection!!!
By all means have the home inspected by a licensed inspector. They will look the house over completely and check for any potential problems. They'll check all the heating and cooling systems, plumbing, the condition of the roof and foundation, and point out any issues with the house structurally. It's well worth the $100.00 or so you'll have to shell out. We wish we'd done this when buying our first house, as we probably would have ended up not buying it due to problems we didn't discover till months down the road.

Anyone have any honeymoon advice, tips, experience in the bahamas?

I am planning on taking my wife there on our honeymoon, and was wondering if anyone on here had been before, perhaps on a honeymoon, and had any recommendations. I don't really want to get a motel 6, (as an example of going cheap) but I don't want to spend a ton of money, as we will need it getting settled and getting started in our life. Perhaps a condo or something on the beach, or something. And... is there an airport, where we could fly down there? We both would rather fly down, and fly back. But if anyone has any recommendations on a good place to stay, things to do, and how much to expect to pay, please fill me in. I don't know what to expect really as far as price wise, I don't have a clue how much a honeymoon costs. Thats why I'm planning a little early lol. Thanks! Oh, any websites would be good too.Anyone have any honeymoon advice, tips, experience in the bahamas?
I guess it depends on what exactly you'd like to do as to where you should stay. I've never been there either, but I'd start by googling it. But as for the airport, I know there's one in Nassau!Anyone have any honeymoon advice, tips, experience in the bahamas?
