Buy the book ';chihuahuas for dummies';. It is an excellent reference to anyone new to the chihuahua breed.

what is the best food? We feed Purina Pro Plan Select turkey and rice

how to care for them? Free feed them which means food is out for them all day. Take it up at night. Buy some nutrical, a vitamin/mineral supplement to help with any low sugars. Lots of love and attention is demanded of them/

training: just be patient and consistant

spaying: should be done before 6 months

general care:chis are house dogs, love to cuddle, love to be with you. As with any dog, you need to have regular vet care, get all shots, again free feed to avoid low sugars. Lots of love.

vets ect Get a vet that is used to chihuahuas and small breeds. Some vets do not understand chihuahuas as well as others do. Get recommendations from friends and relatives. Ask questions of your vet. Don't be afraid to ask. They will usually gladly answer any questions over the phone but if it is important with the dog's health you should always take it to the vet first and foremost. How to care for a puppy chihuahua top tips and advice please?

i hope i helped you in the care of your dog. i thought that putting website links would be more informational than me giving an answer from these or other websites.

you shoud also buy books about the breed.

good luck!

and i hope you find the right dog!
Aww so cute =p Well for starters i'd get a little pen because chiwawas are soo small and they can get almost anywhere. Also they could probably get squashed or get stuck somewhere. Id consider pet insurance and try and train it from as young as possible.
Buy a book.. there is so much to know that it possible can't be typed in a answer forum... stars don't mean anything. you should probably talk to a chihuahua breeder.
throw it out the window
chi's are the best
Kudos for doing your research.

Before I answer please understand that I do not dislike small dogs - I have known several that had useful and productive lives. I do however hate the ones that become fear aggressive/nasty/bratty because their owners treat them like dolls, not dogs.

The best food for your dog is going to be a high quality brand like Blue Buffalo or Wellness Core. Something that has little to no grain. These foods are more expensive but you have to feed less. Avoid products with wheat, corn, soy, any type of gluten, propelyne glycol (used to make the food chewy), or animal byproducts. Animal meal is okay, deboned meat is best and should be in the top three ingredients.

You care for a Chi the same way you care for any other dog. Exercise, discipline, then affection. They go for walks and need a job just like bigger dogs. You will also need to have coats and possibly booties if you live in a cold climate.

Train them the same way you would any other dog. You will need to resist the urge to carry the dog everywhere (I'd make an exception for tons of stairs until the dog was more mature), dressing it in frilly outfits or carrying it around in a pocket book. Treat your Chi like a dog, not a fashion accessory and all will be well. Small dogs that are allowed to do whatever they want because they are small and it's ';cute'; tend to be fear aggressive. Small dogs that are carried and picked up all the time also tend to have aggression issues. Just so you know, if your dog bites someone your homeowner's insurance won't care how big or small. The consequences are the same in states with Vicious Dog laws, etc.

For spaying such a small dog your vet will be able to tell you the safest time to have her spayed. Thank you for being ahead of the game and pre-planning on having her altered!

General care, see above. Exercise, discipline, affection. She's a dog, not a toy. She'll need toys for teething, a nice soft bed, blankets to keep her warm and you as her pack leader.

Vet care is shots. At 12 weeks she should have all her first shots. All she will need for the rest of her first year is her spay surgery.

Again, thaks for doing your research.
