Any tips and advice on good decision making in attack?

Okay, I'll be more specific this time.

When on attack, what sort of procedure do you go through so that you have enough time to execute your decision before the defense gets to you, make it a good one, and make it quickly.

I am aiming to practise my decision making skills as if I were to one day be randomly chucked into 1st 5.

Any tips, advice, please?Any tips and advice on good decision making in attack?
Be forever making the decision. Read where the opposition is standing and what they have done in previous plays. Have options already set in your mind before you receive the ball, i.e. if “A” happens I’ll do this, and if “B” happens I’ll do that, etc... As I said “be forever making decisions” and change the options as the game changes.

Now that’s one way. But in set-plays have a team/coach plan and play your own team game and don’t get dictated to by the opposition. You have a guy inside you and a guy outside you and they need to rely on knowing what you are going to do so they can support that decision. That’s why Carter holds his hand up to his face and looks toward his 2nd five, yep he’s telling what’s happening next.Any tips and advice on good decision making in attack?
mate there is no procedure..who told there is a procedure? sack your coach..

analyse %26amp; study your opponent, meaning see how quick they move towards u..

see how deep or close standing from them so u can execute your attack..dont be two minded when u attack, if u hesitate u will get no where..before u receive the ball make sure u already have in mind what u goona do, pass or run or kick, that way u will focus on one thing,if u get the ball and u havent decide u will drop the ball or get tackled..

so be decisive on the field,be staunch, watch carter play and the way he position himself on the field, before he gets the ball he already knew what to do and thats the diffrence between carter and others,he is very decisive on the field...

make an instant decision and stick to it..if it doesnt come off, think of your next trick...u will develop ur attcking skills by trying diffrent things and dont be afraid to do them...work on ur fitness,if u not fit u wont develop your skills and self confidence will be low.

practice,practice,practice and good luck.
Mate i'll be honest with you.....you cant really teach good decision making, you gotta think on your feet, a split second decision based on whats in front of you....over time you will learn from your own mistakes what decisions to make....but you cant be taught because there is just to many scenarios in the game.

Hope this helps, Good Luck
1st 5 is constintly looking for space to pop the ball into. If you spot something special make it happen or else just pass it down the line to inside centre and let them make the decision.
Play to what's in front of you. That's all it is bro.
do what gets u more points
