This will be his first BIG trip, he has never been on a plane, and I have never had to pack for a trip like this before. Anyone have any tips for us?DOes anyone have any tips or advice with travelling on a plane to Disneyland with a two year old?
I'm assuming that you are his parent, so you know him best, but if I had to tell you one thing, it would be to not make a big deal out of the plane ride. Some kids can get really scared by the thought of take-off and landing.
Some kids have a problem with their ears popping while on a plane, but not all. Just to be safe bring something for him to suck on. I know that some 2-yr-old's still use a pacifier, but if he doesn't, try a sippy cup that is hard to suck on. This will make it easier for his ears to pop.
As for packing, get him his own back pack that he can wear or pull around the air-port. Fill it with toys that you know he loves to play with, and maybe one or two new ones. If he isn't allowed to use markers regularly, then get some of the Crayola Color Wonder markers, they usually come with a theme book like Cars or Toy Story.
If he likes, and is allowed, to watch movies, consider investing in a portable DVD player if you don't already have one. These really are cool for kids because they can hold them on their laps and get to use cool headphones.
Always remember, kids pick up on your moods, so if you are nervous and worried, he will be too. Try to stay relaxed and clam and most likely the trip will go smoothly.
Good luck!!DOes anyone have any tips or advice with travelling on a plane to Disneyland with a two year old?
Good answer up above but I'd like to add a few things. Do bring Children's Benadryl. If your child's ears become uncomfortable and he becomes irritable, Benadryl will get him to sleep.
Also, bring lot's of snacks!!
