I want to start participating in Air Soft battles, I never did it before. If i play Air Soft I want to become a Sniper. does anyone have good advice on how to become a successful one. What are good tips or advice on becoming a successful Air Soft Sniper.?
First you need to figure out if you really want to be a Sniper, its not all hype as you would think, its not like Call of Duty 4 or anything.
Sniping in Airsoft is very slow, not the fast paced as you would with an AEG. You have to sit in wait, and wait, and wait until the shot. And remember, this isn't a mission, and you don't have 3 days to make one shot. So expect to make many fewer shots and probably less adrenaline. And you have to have some kind of patience
Also, there is no cheap sniper rifle thats going to be as good as you want, you have to expect to spend at least over 200 dollars to get good results.
If you want to have a lot of fun, but at the same time and play the sniper kind of role, take it kind of like Black Hawk Down. Use an M4 that has good accuracy, and attack a scope (and silencer if you want). That way, you can get up and have the fun AEG battles with a lot of action and adrenaline, and also hang back and use it as a sniper (if its a good M4) and go for accuracy. What are good tips or advice on becoming a successful Air Soft Sniper.?
Just to modify what the guy above said:
You can get some decent guns for under $200 without upgrades (BAR-10, some L96 [though I hate them]).
The sniper role is generally used as a scout. You gather information more then anything else, and radio it back to the rest of the team. You'll generally take anywhere from 0-5 shots a game, and as soon as you fire, be prepared to move on.
I don't know why anyone would use an M4 Carbine for a sniper rifle, or even a DMR. It's possible, but the barrel is just too small for the kind of accuracy you would from an M14, which is the classic DMR.
What I would recommend is you get an AEG, build up some skill as a rifleman, then if you feel you can do it, move to a designated marksman or sniper role.
You'll get a lot of help from this:
