So any advice?
Btw I live in the Greater Vancouver area in British Columbia, Canada.I want to try my hand at freecycling. Do you guys have any tips and advice?
i suggest a couple of things.first, go out on garbage day erly in the morning.haveing a car is nice, but not essential.you will probably find all kinds of good stuff.my seciond suggestion is to take a peek in some apartmant dumpsters at the end of the month when people are moving, people throw away perfectly good stuff just beacuse they dont feel like taking it with them.also chevk certain websties such as freecycle and craigs list. hope i helped(:I want to try my hand at freecycling. I've been using freecycle for about a month now in southern california and I really enjoy getting rid of my stuff. I have yet to respond to an offer to pick stuff up though. Like the other person said you have to offer things on freecycle before you can ask for items. But you'd be surprised the things that people are willing to come pick up from you. I have given away many things from UNused tampons and nair to a halloween costume. Try it out, you have nothing to lose only to gain and to keep things out of landfills :D
Most freecycle communities require that you offer things before you are able to accept or post wanted items. The best advice is sign up and see what is offered. I personally don't like having emails pile up in my mailbox, so I subscribe to a single daily email, but that means many items are taken before I see it. I also signed up in my city and a couple surrounding cities.
Be specific in what you are giving away or want. Delete your post when you have what you want. Don't ramble on about what you want the object for or where it's going or that you just arrived in town or whatever- no one really cares. If they have it and want to get rid of it they will contact you.
It's a great idea. I use craig's list and I get tons of great things off of there. You should definitelygive free cyclinga shot.
S'a good idea. I need to check it out again. THanks!
