This is my first apartment and I will be living alone. Any tips or advice to make it on my own?I am looking to rent my 1st apartment-any tips/advice?
Make sure you can pay your rent, by whatever means. The single most important thing about being on your own is earning your right to be independent. How you go about doing that is as varied as personalities are. This is the key to making it on your own. Trust me, take The One Gun Kidę¼'s advice!
Apartment life is hell.
Stay with your parents as long as humanly possible, sve up and buy a house.
Save up a good amount of money, be sure you have a steady job, and stay in an area not too far from friends %26amp; family.
I agree with the first poster. Also, make sure your funds are plentiful because you have responsibilities or ';obligations'; now! I would keep 3 months rent stashed in the bank at all times.
I went to Ikea, and found a bunch of things to make my house more ';home like';. Watching the DIY stations on TV are very helpful too. Ask the landlord in advance if you are allowed to make certain changes-such as painting. I invested in a nice 55 gallon fish tank, tropical foliage's in almost every room, nice area rugs, and curtains to match. Everyone complimented my first place! When you walked in it was like a breath of fresh air-it was my home away from home at home! If you are allowed to have pets, they are wonderful if you are living alone. You will learn so much about yourself-things you never realized. It is a wonderful experience. You can have whomever come over when you want and leave when you want. It's lovely. Congrats on your new place!
