We plan to make the move in about 2 years, mind you we are both young (20) but we figure we would have a better chance to get ahead financially by moving to Mexico. I have family there and so does he, we have business plans and are pretty determined ppl. We are starting our research now, so if you have any advice, tips or suggestions we would really appreciate that.
Thanks! My fiance and I are considering a move to Mexico, we are both Mex-American and ambitous any tips? Advice?
What kind of business are you planning on in Mexico? Are you aware that most of the people do not have any money? Have you seen the papers about how many illegal Mexicans are coming across the border to earn a living in the US? My advice - work here to get a pension %26amp; retire there. My fiance and I are considering a move to Mexico, we are both Mex-American and ambitous any tips? Advice?
Mexico has some of the highest unemployment rates in the world.
Why do you think they are flooding the US borders ? Its not for the weather I can assure you..............
You can be as determined as you want to be but you cannot beat the the poverty situation that is prominent in Mexico.
Come down and visit for a few weeks with your tourist glasses left at home. Look around where you are planning to live and look at life from residence point of view.
Shop or talk to people that are in the same business as you are considering.
Go to your local consulate generals office in your state and get their advice and opinion. Also inquire about all the red tape you will have to get thru.
I think you will quickly see that coming here for any other purpose other than retiring is a bad idea.
If you are Mexican citizens or your parents are...so you can easily get your citizenship before coming to Mexico...then you will be able to work. If not, getting a work visa, for American citizens, is very difficult. You must first find an employer to sponsor your work visa.and that means you have to have a skill no Mexican citizen has. If you want to start your own business., you will have to meet financial requirements for investment. Wages and earnings in Mexico are , at best. 1/10th of same job or business in the U.S. Your earning capacity is FAR better in the U.S. If you move to Mexico you will have no S.S. or pension plan, and when you retire, you will have nothing. If you have investment money to start your business and can qualify for a visa, maybe you have a chance, but I have seen young people like you become very disillusioned quickly. There are thousands and thousands of university educated Mexicans working as clerks or waiters because they cannot find better jobs. Unskilled workers are desperate for jobs. Tons of small businesses go out of business every day...I see it in my town all the time. Mexico is not a place to go to make a lot of money.
I recommend against it. There is a reason why Mexicans cross the border every day. You will not find financial stability here.
May I suggest you move to a different state instead?
